Peterson's carbon footprint studies provide information to build an effective strategy to manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and is a prerequisite for participation in GHG trading markets.


A carbon footprint is defined as 'the total set of GHG emissions caused by an organisation, event or product'. For simplicity of reporting, it is often expressed in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide, or its equivalent of other GHGs emitted.

As well as providing information to create a strategy for dealing with GHG, having carbon footprint studies demonstrate compliance with government regulations.

GHG Emissions Inventory and Baseline

We are capable of assisting you in establishing a baseline or updating the documentation pertaining to the greenhouse gas emissions of your organization, products, cities, or events. Our approach aligns with globally acknowledged standards such as ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and IPCC. Our team of experts provides support in identifying significant internal emissions sources and emissions from the value chain (scope 3). We have extensive expertise in helping management prepare for and respond to Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) questionnaires and National GHG Management Programs. As part of our comprehensive service, we also offer professional guidance in developing digital tools for monitoring and reporting the performance of your greenhouse gas management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) against targets, aiding decision-making processes.


Life-cycle Assessment


We provide assistance in determining the initial environmental effects of your products or updating the calculation of their environmental impacts, in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14067, and GHG Protocol Product-Life-Cycle-Accounting-Reporting-Standard. Using a software tool, we can pinpoint the main sources of up to 20 distinct environmental impacts, including waste, wastewater, water consumption, and emissions (including greenhouse gases), for individual products or a group of products throughout their entire life cycle, from production to disposal. This approach enables you to identify the nature and magnitude of impacts across the value chain, facilitating decision-making processes and the development of product-level strategies with suppliers, vendors, and distributors. It also enhances the measurement and communication of the diverse impacts associated with each assessed product.


GHG Emissions Reduction Strategy​​​

We offer support in creating a comprehensive emissions reduction plan, drawing on industry best practices, including initiatives like SbTi and NetZero commitments, as well as programmes such as ISO 14064-2 and Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACC). Additionally, we can assist management in regularly monitoring emissions reduction progress to aid in decision-making. Working alongside our team of experts, we develop custom software tools that generate executive-level reports on GHG emissions reduction compared to the established baseline. Furthermore, we provide assistance in preparing documentation that meets the requirements of voluntary carbon markets.


GHG Program Compliance Implementation ​
